Dear residents, staff, family and community members of VCC,

On Friday of last week an article appeared in the Vashon Beachcomber announcing the plans of the Franciscan Health clinic to cease operations of the Sunrise Ridge medical clinic in August.  Many, if not all residents at VCC have of course accessed care at this clinic for years and as such this news presents concern for our community. However, we assure you that our commitment is to establish a solid plan for medical care continuation for the residents of VCC, prior to this proposed change.

In the interim, we are committed to working with the Vashon-Maury Health Collaborative (VMHC) to participate in the broader conversation of creating sustainable health care access for all Islanders.

We will keep you apprised of the developing plan for continuing medical care for the elders we serve at VCC.  We invite you to let your voices be heard as together we respond as a community. If you have specific concerns or ideas that you would like to engage in for VCC, please feel free to contact any one of us.

We are committed to the residents and the broader community of VCC.  Our promise is to find the right solution for assuring appropriate and excellent care for our residents.

Best regards,

Charlene Boyd and Dax Dowling
