Dear Friends of VCC,
As you can imagine, not a minute goes by when we’re not thinking about how we can protect our residents from the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 virus. We continue to take all necessary precautions set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to prevent the spread of infection. Only staff and healthcare providers are allowed to enter the building. Those of us who can come in are required to sanitize our hands immediately and take a screening test. We also have strict protocols in place for sanitizing the entire building–and ourselves–several times a day.
As you might expect, our dedicated staff are taking all these measures to heart because they want to keep our residents safe. I am in awe of all the people who work here. We have a remarkably committed team and they are so appreciated by our residents and their families.
Needless to say, residents are eager for activity. We are keeping them busy with regularly scheduled events and games. There are movies and music playing all day throughout the building, and we are trying to get them outdoors for walks or drives around the island.
Please keep us in your thoughts as we work through these trying times.
